Nutrition Program/ Meal Times:
Rainbow Garden participates in the USDA sponsored food program while going above and beyond government standards in order to meet the individual needs of the members of our community. We strongly believe that good nutrition positively influences a child's development. We are committed to providing healthy, delicious, vegetarian meals and snacks for the children in our care. We offer organic juice, produce and food whenever possible. We have a consistent menu and also offer healthy, seasonal varieties as much as we can. We are extremely sensitive to any and all dietary needs and preferences of our students. (copies of our menu are available upon request)
Good food is very important to us and meal times are a special part of our day. During meal times the children learn and practice many skills such as; manners, polite language, sharing, patience, trying new foods, physical awareness, control and serving and cleaning up after themselves. Meal times at Rainbow Garden are fun, social, healthy learning experiences and are a perfect opportunity for us to nurture our students. Meal times are also an example of how our community atmosphere allows the students and teachers to work together to accomplish the goals of the program.
